Bishop Borys Gudziak Expresses Solidarity with Kharkiv Residents

This was reported by the press service of the Kharkiv Exarchate.

During his visit to the Kharkiv Exarchate, Bishop Borys expressed solidarity with the residents of Kharkiv, conveyed greetings from U. S. Catholics, and assured them of strong prayers and continued humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

In his sermon, the Metropolitan recounted his trip to war-torn cities in Ukraine and shared what he learned from the people’s resilience and courage.

“The citizens of Kharkiv and the Ukrainian military make people in the United States reflect. We live in a time when almost everything is bought and sold. But Ukrainians say: ‘No, there is truth and lies, good and evil, and we are ready to risk even our lives for this.’ Be aware that you are changing world history. Ukraine is now the global epicenter of change,” the archbishop emphasized.

Bishop Borys also visited V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, where he spoke with the administration, students, and faculty. During the conversation, the Metropolitan shared his vision of vocation, his personal journey in discovering his purpose, and the values that should guide the Ukrainian people.

The students actively asked questions about current events in Ukraine, while the teachers were interested in reconsidering issues of eternity, hope, and historical events and figures.
