“We believe that Ukraine will win and peace will come soon”: Emeritus Bishop Vasyl Semeniuk
On December 8, 2024, during the enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Ternopil-Zboriv, Teodor Martyniuk, Bishop Vasyl Semeniuk shared: “I asked Bishop Teodor Martyniuk to become a metropolitan, but he did not want to. I even cried and begged him, yet he still refused. I prayed to God for him to become a metropolitan.”
The bishop continued: “Today, I want to thank everyone once again. I am especially grateful to those who helped me develop Zarvanytsia and to all who contributed to building churches in the Khmelnytsky region. In fact, we built about 60 churches there and restored the eparchy.”
He also expressed particular gratitude to His Beatitude Sviatoslav, saying, “You are like the voice of a thirsty man in the desert.”
“You have been traveling across Europe—in Estonia, the Baltic States, Germany, Italy, France—wherever you go, you spread the truth about Ukraine and the ongoing war. You are a patriot who deeply loves Ukraine and is dedicated to achieving peace as soon as possible. We stand with you in prayer, believing that Ukraine will win and peace will come soon,” Bishop Vasyl Semeniuk emphasized.
