The book Startups of Good, published by the Ukrainian Educational Platform, which extensively helps Ukrainians who suffered from the war, features a story about the opening and development of a charity kitchen and dining room at the parish of the Maccabees Martyrs of the UGCC in Beryslav, Kherson Oblast.

Fr. Oleksandr Bilskyi wrote about this on his Facebook.

“During the book’s presentation, I had the opportunity to talk with the director of the Ukrainian Educational Platform, Ms. Maryana Kashchak. I conveyed to her the gratitude from our entire parish community for all the help and support that the Ukrainian Educational Platform has provided to our parish. We are grateful for the impetus that started this whole business of helping those in need in our parish,” noted Fr. Oleksandr.

According to the priest, the Ukrainian Educational Platform supported the parish initiative when it was just launching — and from a small charitable center where a few people in need could eat, the work undertaken by the Beryslav residents developed into an actual aid center that provides more than 100 people with nutritious meals every day. Since the center’s inception, about 80,000 meals have been distributed.

As we reported a few days ago, during the shelling of Beryslav, Russians damaged it.
