An Odesa Lyceum Receives a 175-kW Generator from the Odesa Exarchate of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church
On Thursday, April 30, Bishop Mykhailo Bubniy, Exarch of Odesa, presented a 175-kW generator to Odesa Lyceum No. 56 of the Odesa City Council. The equipment is intended to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the educational institution amid protracted disruptions to electricity, heating, and water supplies caused by massive Russian shelling.
The Odesa Exarchate reported this on its website.
The presentation took place on the school grounds. The event was attended by Yulia Filler, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council; Svitlana Osaulenko, a member of the Odesa City Council; Svitlana Fomenko, Principal of Lyceum No. 56; as well as parents, teachers, and students of the school.
During the presentation of the generator, Bishop Mykhailo Bubniy emphasized that the Church will continue to support the people of Odesa during this difficult wartime period.
“In times of war, when the enemy is shelling our civilian infrastructure—including educational institutions—the Church cannot stay on the sidelines. We are doing everything in our power to ensure that life continues and that our children and youth have the necessary conditions to receive a quality education and upbringing. Each of us must do our part to ensure that Ukraine withstands this brutal war. Only together are we strong, and in unity lies the strength of the people. The enemy cannot break or divide us, though he attempts to do so in various ways. We, however, are working together for victory, a happy future for our state, and a better destiny for our children,” the bishop noted.
He also added: “I am grateful that, thanks to the Patriarchal Foundation Wise Cause, as well as our benefactors and donors, I have the opportunity to donate this powerful generator for the needs of Odesa Lyceum No. 56. May it serve as a reliable support for this wonderful institution, so that the educational process can go on uninterrupted, and students, teachers, and staff have enough light—both in the classrooms and in their hearts.”
