On December 17, Bishop Vasyl, Exarch of Kharkiv, visited Sumy, where he presided over the Hierarchical Liturgy in the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After the service, the bishop awarded Fr. Oleksandr Dyadya, the rector and head of Caritas Sumy, with a certificate on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his ordination, as it is reported on the website of the Exarchate.

“Please accept our congratulations on this anniversary! During the war, you exhibited faith and resilience and did not leave the city of Sumy when the enemy surrounded it. May the Lord abundantly bless your ministry in the future,” Bishop Vasyl said in his greeting.

Father Oleksandr thanked the Exarch of Kharkiv for giving an example of ministry. “I see how the Lord works! I see the graces that God sends to all of us. Today, I ask God for only one thing: to allow me to continue to be his shepherd and serve people,” added the priest-anniversary celebrant.

It is worth noting that Fr. Oleksandr has been the head of Caritas Sumy for several years and faithfully serves all needy adults and children. While in the city, Bishop Vasyl had the opportunity to visit the foundation’s central office, as well as the Crisis Center and Child-Friendly Space. The Exarch of Kharkiv wished the employees God’s blessing in the work they do and in helping Ukrainians affected by Russian aggression.
