On September 25, the archbishop of Munich and Freising Reinhard Cardinal Marx celebrated the Liturgy in the Munich cathedral, where representatives of various nationalities participated.

We feel God’s help and comfort, as well as solidarity and support of millions of Europeans and people of goodwill around the world, — Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh in Munich

The service was held within the national intercultural week. The Apostolic Exarch for Ukrainians of the Byzantine Rite of Germany and Scandinavia, Bishop Bohdan Dziurach, was also invited to this Liturgy. The Liturgy was accompanied by prayerful singing by the “Pokrov” choir from the Cathedral Church of the Protection of the Holy Mother of God and the Apostle Andrew the First-Called UGCC, Munich.

Bishop Bohdan Dziurach, addressing the clergy and the faithful, thanked for their exceptional support of the Ukrainian people. He remarked that, even though our Ukrainian society, for over eight years, had been living with a heart burdened by the sorrow and grief caused by the war Russia waged against Ukraine, we never felt alone in that ordeal. Ukrainians always felt constant God’s help and the loyal solidarity of millions of Europeans.

Bishop Bohdan also called on all believers to pray for peace, whereas Archbishop Reinhard Marx, in his speech to those in the church, expressed his solidarity with the Ukrainian people and condemned Russia’s war of aggression.
