Those “peace formulas” that Russia invents today are nothing more than the pacification of the colony, — the Head of the UGCC on the 253 rd day of the war

It hurts us even to hear those “peace formulas” that the Russians are inventing today, which are nothing more than the pacification of the colony they want to destroy as a state and as a people. The Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, emphasized in his daily military address on the 253 rd day of the great, bloody, invasive colonization war that Russia is waging against Ukraine.

Those “peace formulas” that Russia invents today are nothing more than the pacification of the colony, — the Head of the UGCC on the 253 rd day of the war

In his daily video messages, His Beatitude Sviatoslav will reflect on the healing of Ukraine’s wounds.

“Destruction is the word that best describes what the Russian occupier has brought to our land today,” the Head of the Church emphasized.

“But the biggest problem is that the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is completely de-energized,” the Primate noted. She switched to a different energy supply type, which will last for several days. The countdown to the manufactured disaster has begun.”

His Beatitude Sviatoslav noted that this war caused and continues to cause significant wounds to the Ukrainian people.

“Therefore, in these circumstances, one of the main aspects of the Church’s pastoral care is the healing of wounds. The Lord Jesus Christ heals the wounds of the human soul and body. And the Church, as the Body of Christ, continues His mission.”

According to the Primate, medical workers of Ukraine, particularly during the war, were on the front line of the humanitarian front. We see that the war brought a lot of physical and moral suffering. The wounded and destitute ended up in hospitals, and doctors met with a large number of disfigured people.

“Wounded people filled our monasteries, retreat houses, even the residences of our bishops. Today, we are focusing the efforts of doctors and pastors on helping those suffering,” the Head of the Church notes.

“Ukrainian society,” he added, “must understand that medical workers also need our support and compassion now to perform their service.”

According to His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the role of medical chaplains is opening up specially. Their presence in civilian and military hospitals is significant because those spiritual medicines that help heal a person’s soul and body are the Holy Sacraments of the Church.
