St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy Celebrates Its 65th Anniversary
On October 24, 2026, a solemn celebration marking the 65th anniversary of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saint Nicholas took place in Chicago. The event brought together hierarchs of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, clergy, and representatives of parishes from across the United States.
Among those attending were His Eminence Metropolitan Borys Gudziak, Archbishop of Philadelphia, and His Grace Bishop Benedict Aleksiychuk, Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saint Nicholas, along with numerous clergy members and parish representatives.
Sixty-five years of history represent decades of prayer, faithful service, and living faith. Throughout these years, the Eparchy of Saint Nicholas has become a spiritual home for Ukrainians in the United States, helping them remain faithful to Christ, preserve the richness of Ukrainian Church traditions, and pass on their spiritual heritage to future generations.
This anniversary was an opportunity to give thanks to God for His grace and guidance throughout the history of the Eparchy and to honor all those whose dedication, prayers, and sacrifices have contributed to its growth and supported its spiritual mission.
A special expression of unity and commitment to the future of the Church was the fundraising campaign in support of seminarians. Thanks to the generosity and collective efforts of the participants, $102,350 was raised to support the education and formation of future priests. This contribution will help prepare those who will continue Christ’s mission, serve God’s people, and strengthen the spiritual life of our parishes.
The 65th anniversary celebration also provided an opportunity to renew the shared commitment to strengthening parish communities, fostering the growth of Church life, and preserving the spiritual treasures of the Ukrainian Catholic Church for generations to come.
