The project was set up to help Ukrainian communities recover from the war and become more robust. It is grounded in the ideas of the righteous Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky, who believed that education and enlightenment are the key to a better and more authentic life.

The Patriarchal Foundation “Wise Cause” Launches a New Project “Healing Hromadas”

On January 26–30, 30 representatives of the Zelenodolsk Hromada participated in the Healing Hromadas training course at the Patriarchal House in Lviv. Among them were entrepreneurs, businessmen, government and local officials, civic activists, and opinion leaders.

According to Fr. Lubomyr Yavorsky, Patriarchal Economist of the UGCC and one of the co-founders of the course, “The creation of projects, not only of humanitarian response but also of visionary and semantic orientation, is a focal point for the Patriarchal Foundation Wise Cause. In this way, we work directly with people, restoring their hope and helping them to see the future. Indeed, without hope, it is impossible to see your own future.”

The Healing Hromadas educational and awareness project includes both academic activities and psychological rehabilitation in the form of spiritual renewal of each participant. For this purpose, for five days, participants take part in lectures by professional teachers, strategic sessions, discussions and spiritual conversations, visits to historical monuments in Lviv, and self-discovery.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Renovabis International Charitable Foundation.

Please be advised that this is only the first stage of cooperation with communities to rebuild social and economic life in the regions of Ukraine directly affected by the war. In the future, participants will have the opportunity to engage in further work within the Action in Hope community training course and establish cooperation with the UGCC Counseling Center.
