St. Josaphat monument consecrated in Brazil

On the feast of the Corpus Christi, according to the Gregorian calendar, a large number of parishioners gathered to participate in the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Bishop Myron Mazur, ruling bishop of the Eparchy of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the UGCC, in concelebration with Fr. Anthony Zubyk, OSBM, Protopriohegumen of the Province of St. Joseph, local parish priest Fr. Mario Dachyshyn, OSBM.

The service was followed by a procession with the Holy Eucharist, and then the blessing of the entrance gate to the cemetery. The mosaics immortalize the memory of the holy martyr Josaphat. In addition, this religious and artistic monument depicts St. Joseph the Betrothed, the patron saint of the Basilian Fathers’ Province in Brazil, and the event of Christ’s resurrection. The author of the mosaics is Eduard Movrov from Curitiba.
