Nearly 5000 Ukrainians participated in the pilgrimage to Fatima

The hierarchical Divine Liturgy was held in the Basilica of the Holy Trinity in Fatima, the fourth largest in the world, and can accommodate more than 8,500 people.

The liturgy was led by Bishop Stepan Sus, head of the Pastoral Migration Department of the UGCC, in a concelebration with the coordinator of the UGCC Chaplaincy in Portugal, Fr. Gabriel Tymchyk, OSBM, and priests from Portugal and Spain.

During the Holy Liturgy, the pilgrims could approach the Holy Mystery of Confession. Thus, over 1000 people received Holy Communion.

After the Divine Liturgy, Ukraine was consecrated to the Protection of the Holy Virgin.

Later, everyone went to the Way of the Cross, where they prayed for Ukraine and asked the Lord for our land’s desired victory and peace. After the Way of the Cross, the Ukrainians prayed Moleben to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

At the end, Bishop Stepan gave the pilgrims his bishop’s blessing and sprinkled the pilgrims with the holy water.
