Lies kill no less than Russian missiles, bombs and bullets: Head of the UGCC in the 104th week of war
These days, Ukraine commemorates the 10th anniversary of the beginning of this war — the Russian invasion of our Crimea and the occupation of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, Donetsk, and Luhansk. His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, said in a traditional video message on the 104th week of the great pain, the great war that Russia brought to Ukrainian land.

The Primate stated that this week was again a time of ferocious missile and drone attacks by Russians on our peaceful cities and villages. The intensity of hostilities on the front line is not diminishing. But what the enemy did to civilians this week is once again turning into a visible, clear crime against humanity.
However, the spiritual leader notes that last week, we were blessed with one bright moment: the 51 st exchange of prisoners of war, which resulted in the return of 100 defenders of the Motherland, including the heroes of Mariupol.
“This war exsanguinates us every day, but we do not lose hope — hope in God and His power, which heals and renews our resilience and ability to fight. Ukraine is wounded, but Ukraine stands, Ukraine prays, Ukraine fights!” the Head of the UGCC emphasized.
“Yet, His Beatitude Sviatoslav thinks, we feel that this war, which began decades ago with the destruction of our cities and villages and mass killings of civilians, had been going on long before then. It was not triggered by bullets, cannons, airplanes or missiles, but by Russian propaganda — which has weapons that may wound the human heart and mind even more.”
Now Russia, the Primate emphasizes, is once again attacking Ukraine on the information front, denying to the whole world the right to exist of our state, which has a thousand-year history and is much older than the Russian Empire.
The Ukrainian people are a martyr nation that has fought for centuries for the right to restore its statehood and live in its own state on its native land. “Therefore, it is so critical today that the whole world recognizes the truth because lies kill no less than Russian missiles, bombs, and bullets,” His Beatitude Sviatoslav said.
