Emmaus Youth Gathering Brings Teenagers Together at Holy Spirit Seminary in Edmonton
About 30 teenagers gathered at Holy Spirit Seminary in Edmonton on October 25, 2026, for an Emmaus evening of prayer, faith formation and fellowship. The monthly bilingual initiative of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton welcomes young people aged 12–17.
This was reported on the official website of the Eparchy of Edmonton.
The evening opened with Vespers with Litya for the feast of the Great-Martyr Demetrius. Rev. Julian Bilyj, Rector of Holy Spirit Seminary, led the service, with singing by the seminarians. Young participants read the Old Testament readings and Psalms.
Seminarian Marko Koval, who leads Emmaus, then guided a tour introducing the seminary’s mission and daily life.
Clips from The Chosen provided the starting point for a discussion after supper on sin, forgiveness and metanoia. Participants explored turning back toward God, restoring relationships through forgiveness, and the role of faith in everyday choices.
The program also included a game of “Mafia” and concluded with prayer and a group photograph.
Now in its third month, Emmaus offers teenagers opportunities to encounter Christ, ask questions about faith and build friendships within the Church.
