Another community in the Poltava Region has successfully completed the Mini MBA educational program Action in Hope, organized by the Patriarchal Foundation of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Mudra Sprava (“Wise Cause”). The program concluded on June 6 with participants presenting their social and entrepreneurial projects developed over the course.

UGCC Training Program for Community Restoration: Another Stage of Action in Hope Completed in Poltava Region

This was reported by the press service of the Patriarchal Foundation Mudra Sprava.

The initiative was launched in response to the devastating consequences of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine. Given the destruction of infrastructure, enterprises, and businesses, as well as the pollution of agricultural land—leading to the loss of jobs, livelihoods, and hope for many communities—the Patriarchal Foundation Mudra Sprava created the Action in Hope educational project.

The program aims to transform and rebuild Ukrainian society by equipping active community members—entrepreneurs, businesspeople, civic activists, opinion leaders, government officials, and representatives of local self-government—with the knowledge and skills needed to launch and grow their own projects, while fostering collaboration.

The five-module course covered a wide range of topics, including management, communications, finance, project design, business modeling, teamwork, leadership, and personal development. This comprehensive approach enabled participants not only to gain valuable knowledge but also to develop a clear vision for implementing their ideas within their communities.

Projects presented included a coffee shop and bookstore, a pet shop, a floral center, a hair salon, a clothing manufacturing center, and a puppet agency. Participants also proposed a number of social initiatives, such as mobile support services for women and children, psychological courses for internally displaced persons, a rehabilitation sanatorium, a digital creativity studio for children with disabilities, and a center for treating post-traumatic scars.

The projects were evaluated by representatives of the foundation team: program coordinator Fr. Lubomyr Yavorsky, and instructors Svitlana Buhay, Andriy Rozhdestvensky, and Mariana Kashchak. They emphasized that each participant showed a strong commitment to serving their hromadas and that every project incorporated a clear social component.

The end of the course is not the final step: all graduates are now eligible to receive individual support from the UGCC Advisory Center to help implement their initiatives.

This is the third hromada to complete the Action in Hope training program, which has previously been implemented in Zelenodolsk and Kropyvnytskyi. The initiative is part of the UGCC’s broader vision for revitalizing local hromadas and promoting responsible service rooted in hope, action, and solidarity.
