UGCC Parish in Dublin Hosts Presentation of Ukrainian Easter Eggs

On March 31, the parish of the Blessed Martyr Mykola Charnetsky of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Dublin (Ireland) held a festive Easter Divine Liturgy. For the first time in the history of the community, this year’s Easter was marked by a presentation of pysanky prepared by the NGO Ukrainian Volunteers of Ireland.

The centerpiece of the event the parishioners was a 2.5-meter pysanka, the frame of which was made by parishioners Serhiy and Petro Shalapay and painted by Olena Shapoval.

Fr. Vasyl Kornitsky presided over the Easter Divine Liturgy, accompanied by singing from Deacon Yaroslav Perhun and seminary brothers Vitaliy Bodnaruk and Vasyl Koval, who are studying at the Pontifical Ukrainian College of St. Josaphat in Rome.

The Liturgy was followed by the blessing of Paschal food.

“We wish our people victory and peace! May Christ protect our Ukraine, our brothers and sisters back home!” Fr. Vasyl wished.
