UGCC Head congratulates Bishop Brian Baida on the 15th anniversary of his episcopal ordination

“Personally, and on behalf of the Synod of Bishops of our Church, we congratulate you on your anniversary, which has been a great blessing for the faithful of our Church in Canada. We thank the Lord for the gift of your life, your holy ministry, and all the gifts He has so generously bestowed upon you,” the greeting letter reads.

The Primate noted that exactly 15 years ago, Bishop Brian Baida was ordained to the episcopate at St. George’s Cathedral in Saskatoon. Metropolitan Lavrentiy Hutsulyak of Winnipeg was the principal consecrator that day, and Bishops Mykhailo Vivchar and Kenneth Nowakowski were the co-consecrators.

The Head of the Church expressed his warmest gratitude to the bishop and expressed appreciation and commendation for his episcopal ministry: “Your episcopal ministry is marked by pastoral care for the faithful of our Church, for whom you have become a caring father, a devout preacher of Christ’s truth, and a defender of their rights and freedoms. Priests in your person find an example to follow in prayer and works of mercy.”

On the 15th anniversary of Bishop Brian’s episcopal ordination, His Beatitude Sviatoslav thanks the Lord for calling the bishop to the path of dedicated service to the Church.

“Please accept our sincere congratulations and wishes for plentiful God’s blessings, the help of the Holy Spirit in all your endeavors for the glory of God and the good of our Church — for many blessed years,” the Primate wished.
