The UGCC Youth Commission, as part of the environmental education project «SpoZhyti,» raised funds to send three trucks of Zarvanytsia drinking water to people affected by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in Kherson region.

The initiative was supported and blessed by the Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Ternopil-Zboriv Archeparchy, Bishop Vasyl Semeniuk.

Father Roman Demush spoke of the initiative and called for solidarity with the victims.

«We are happy that our initiative has activated the public in general and the church environment in particular. Many people have joined the process of helping the victims of the Kakhovka reservoir disaster. In particular, by providing drinking water,» he said.

According to him, the disaster in the Kherson region prompted the youth commission to move from talking to concrete acts of mercy for people, nature, and our home in general as part of its environmental education project. This is how the initiative was launched to raise funds to purchase drinking water.
