Representatives of the Patriarchal Youth Commission of the UGCC Visited the Eparchy of St. Nicholas in Chicago

The day began with the Divine Liturgy, celebrated by Bishop Bryan Bayda, together with Bishop Benedict Aleksiychuk, Fr. Pavlo Drozdyak, and Fr. Roman Demush. In his homily, Bishop Bryan spoke about a personal relationship with Jesus and the call of every Christian to witness their faith. After the Liturgy, Bishop Benedict gave Bishop Bryan a panagia as a sign of brotherly unity and gratitude for his service to young people.

Afterwards, the guests visited the eparchial offices and learned about the structure of the curia and the main areas of work of the Eparchy of Chicago.

Later, Bishop Benedict and the Youth Commission held a meeting where they discussed the VIII All-American Youth Pilgrimage in Parma. They shared reflections on its spiritual fruits and talked about its organization.

They also presented the work of the Patriarchal Youth Commission, its projects, and the challenges of modern youth ministry, especially the needs of newly arrived Ukrainian youth in the United States.

Representatives of the eparchy shared their experience in youth ministry, including retreats, summer camps, regular youth meetings, and the role of spiritual fathers and youth leadership development.

At the end of the meeting, both sides discussed future cooperation, exchange of experience, and building a shared vision for youth ministry in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
