Asserting that “our hope is in the Lord,” His Beatitude Sviatoslav assured that together with the entire Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, he continues “continuous prayerful standing before His altar, praying for victory for our country and a just peace for the Ukrainian people.”

“In this struggle,” said the Head of the Church. “He relies on people whom He calls to serve to protect and defend their neighbors. We are grateful to everyone who accepted God’s invitation and responsibility in this difficult and exacting time for each of us. We thank General Valery Zaluzhny for two years of tireless struggle.”

“The war continues. Today, like always, we pray and ask that the Almighty Lord bless the Ukrainian defenders and bless the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrsky,” added His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
