Head of the UGCC Commission on Interconfessional and Interreligious Relations visits the Apostolic Nunciature in Brazil
March 7, Fr. Ihor Shaban, head of the UGCC Commission on Interconfessional and Interreligious Relations, visited the Apostolic Nunciature in Brazil.
During the meeting, the priest spoke about the existing situation in Ukraine and thanked the Brazilian clergy for supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
According to him, Ukrainians, ordinary people, victims of this war, survived thanks to global Christian solidarity and prayer. The father also mentioned two captured UGCC priests from Berdiansk, whose fate remains unknown.
Speaking about the ministry of the UGCC during the war, particularly in the social domain, Fr. Ihor highlighted the activities of the Patriarchal Charitable Foundation “Wise Cause,” which has already helped tens of thousands of needy families with meal kits and evacuated several thousand people from the East and South of Ukraine with the help of volunteers.
At the end of the meeting, the participants prayed together for Ukraine and the victory of truth and just peace.
Fr. Ihor Shaban is currently in the capital of Brazil as part of a delegation of Ukrainian civil society to tell the world community about Russian aggression and how the Ukrainian people are once again fighting for their right to exist and guarding universal values so that every corner of the world understands what is happening in Ukraine.
