From the Head of the UGCC on the 298th day of the war: “People are returning to their homes are ready to rebuild their home, where the enemy brought death”

There is no heat or power in the liberated cities and villages, but many people are returning to their homes and are ready to rebuild their homes even in such dramatic circumstances, to bring life to the place where the enemy had brought death. The Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, said on the 298th day of the full-scale war that the Russian invader brought to the peaceful Ukrainian land.

From the Head of the UGCC on the 298th day of the war: “People are returning to their homes are ready to rebuild their home, where the enemy brought death”

The Head of the UGCC emphasized that we especially pray for our heroic youth.

“Our youth,” he believes, “is a promoter, a generator of all changes for the better.” Youth who know how to do good form their destiny in it. She does good to herself, her neighbor, and society. To be young means to go through a period of discernment of one’s vocation.”

According to him, the word “vocation” primarily indicates the meaning of life, which we must find. However, we Christians understand this concept much more deeply. It means a specific call we receive from God — our Creator and Savior. It is a call to live, to find the road that leads to happiness.

“We want to help young people understand their pursuits in life. Every boy and girl should understand themselves, discover the fullness of God’s gifts in themselves,” he added.

“Understand this,” urged the Head of the Church, “that all of you are called, first of all — wish big.” “Wish big!” — urged our patriarch Josyf Slipyj. Refrain from settling for small things in your life choices. Instead, strive for something high, true — strive for such a way of life and activity that you can fully realize yourself and develop your gifts and talents.”
