First Youth Gathering “Ask Me Anything” Held at the Cathedral in Melbourne
On Friday, 7 August, the monthly Prayer for Ukraine was held at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Melbourne. Following the prayer, the first youth gathering in the “Ask Me Anything” format was held, led by the Parish Administrator, Father Andriy Mykytyuk.
The gathering welcomed a large number of youth and young adults from the St Joseph Melkite Catholic Church Youth Group, representatives of the Chaldean and Roman Catholic communities, as well as young people from the Ukrainian Cathedral Parish.
Father Colin Nunis, Assistant Parish Priest of St Joseph, also joined Father Andriy for the gathering. The priests shared their experiences and thoughts and answered many questions from the participants.
The gathering took place in an open and informal atmosphere, giving the young people an opportunity to raise topics of interest to them, exchange thoughts and hear the priests’ responses. It also provided a good opportunity for young people to meet and connect with one another.
The participants actively engaged in the discussion and responded positively to the new format. Many expressed their intention to attend the next gathering and to bring their friends along.
The next youth gathering, “Ask Me Anything”, is scheduled for Friday, 2 October. It will take place during the visit to the Cathedral Parish of the relics of one of the Catholic Church’s newest saints, Saint Carlo Acutis.
