Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi Congratulates His Beatitude Sviatoslav on His Birthday
On behalf of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and personally, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, extended birthday greetings to His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
In his message, the general emphasized the unique role of the Primate of the UGCC’s spiritual ministry during this time of full-scale war. According to him, His Beatitude Sviatoslav is “a voice of truth, faith, and hope for millions of Ukrainians who face the trials of war every day.” He noted that the spiritual message of the Head of the Church supports and strengthens people and instills confidence in both military personnel and civilians.
Oleksandr Syrskyi also noted that, as Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav tirelessly brings people together around Christian values, calling for unity, mutual support, and love for the Motherland. The general is convinced that His spiritual guidance is a vital component of the resilience of Ukrainians, “for it is faith that helps us endure the hardest times.”
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine deeply appreciate your prayers, support, and constant care for our soldiers. It inspires, empowers, and strengthens us in the fight for freedom, independence, and the future of our nation. I wish you good health, spiritual strength, wisdom, and God’s grace. May the Lord continue to strengthen you in your service and grant you the strength to lead the Ukrainian people toward peace, victory, and a just future,” the Commander-in-Chief said.
