On January 14, the Patriarchal Foundation Wise Cause arranged for hot meals to be delivered to residents of the Lastivka modular town in Irpin, who were left without electricity, heating, and the ability to cook food as a result of heavy shelling of energy infrastructure.

This was reported by the press service of the Patriarchal Foundation Wise Cause.

After another series of massive attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the situation in Irpin, Kyiv region, remains critical. Due to significant damage to the power grid, the city is experiencing prolonged power outages, which are particularly painful in modular towns that are completely dependent on electricity.

“The situation in the city is very difficult. The residents of Lastivka are literally living in the cold. The first thing they need right now is basic warmth and support,” say the volunteers.

The provision of hot meals was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of the team of the Patriarchal Foundation Wise Cause under the auspices of His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and Father Lubomyr Yavorsky, Patriarchal Economist of the UGCC.

The local community and volunteers express their sincere gratitude to all people of good will who, in these difficult times, are helping Ukrainians to survive difficult circumstances and providing for the basic needs of those affected while restoration work on energy facilities continues.
