The Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, warned against the danger of stratification of Ukrainian society into different environments.
“What a great danger is the stratification of Ukrainian society into different environments! And there is a danger that a certain part of Ukrainian society begins to live as if there was no war. This is a catastrophe!” the Head of the UGCC emphasized in Lviv on May 31, 2023, during the presentation of his book “Tell Me the Truth. Dialogues on the Meaning of Life”.
His Beatitude Sviatoslav believes that one of the most dangerous threats is the attempt to offload the burden of war on a small group of those who are fighting or suffering: “If the part of society that is now shielding Ukraine with its chest feels that you are alienating them at the household level, even mentally, it will be tough for them. After all, we can only win if we defend our homeland together.”

“Even in Lviv,” said His Beatitude Sviatoslav, “you must understand that each of you has your checkpoint and has no right to surrender. Perhaps, for you students, the roadblock is studying. If you are studying, be the best, and surprise the world with your success. Then, be certain we will be invincible.”
