His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his sincere gratitude to the British Ambassador for standing by Ukraine and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in this difficult time. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

“Thank you for fostering warm relations in London between our Church, His Majesty King Charles III, the government, and city authorities. We feel that both the people and the authorities of Great Britain deeply empathize with us. Our people feel welcomed and secured,” said the Head of the UGCC, noting the participation of the British in the celebration of the 33 rd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence in London. [VIDEO]

British Ambassador Martin Harris emphasized the important role of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the public life of Ukraine and expressed readiness for further cooperation.

He emphasized that during his last visit to Scotland he noticed the readiness of the British to support Ukrainians at any stage. “Even when Ukraine does not appear on the front pages of newspapers, Ukrainians will always remain in our hearts,” he quoted the words of the Scottish government representatives, emphasizing that the UK’s support for Ukraine has become personal for many residents of the Kingdom for more than 900 days of war.

At the conclusion of the meeting, which was held in Ukrainian, His Beatitude Sviatoslav presented Ambassador Harris with a book of his daily addresses from the first year of the full-scale war, as well as a message from the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC on war and a just peace, translated into six languages, including English.
