On January 29, on the eve of the presentation of the Ukrainian translation of the joint “Document on Human Fraternity for Peace and Living Together in the World,” His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, met at the Patriarchal Center of the UGCC with representatives of Muslim religious organizations in Ukraine.

The Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Meets with Representatives of Muslim Centers in Ukraine

The meeting was attended by delegates from the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine (RAMU) and the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (RAMC), which are members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO). During this six-month period, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine serves as the chairing religious organization within the AUCCRO.

During the conversation, the parties discussed pressing issues that concern Ukraine’s religious community in the context of the war: achieving a just peace, strengthening interfaith cooperation, and jointly advocating for Ukraine’s interests abroad. Particular attention was paid to the role of the Muslim world in the international context, specifically its efforts to promote peace and create conditions for dialogue on ending the war in Ukraine.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav emphasized: “We are grateful to Muslim leaders for helping to convey the truth about the war to their communities abroad. This contributes to the formation of an objective opinion in Muslim communities around the world and counteracts misinformation.”

The parties agreed to continue close cooperation, jointly promote the principles of interreligious dialogue, brotherhood, and peace, and develop concrete next steps to implement these efforts.
