The Head of the UGCC presented patriarchal diplomas to the employees of his Secretariat in Rome
On Sunday, November 15, in the Cathedral Church of the Mother of God of Zhyrovytsia and the Holy Martyrs Sergius and Bacchus, the Head of the UGCC awarded patriarchal letters of commendation to the employees of his Secretariat in Rome. The awarding ceremony followed the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the church’s patronal feast.
Deacon Danylo Galadza and His Beatitude Sviatoslav
Deacon Danylo Galadza received an award for translating the daily video messages of the Father and Head of the UGCC into English during the first year of the full-scale war in Ukraine, “helping to share the truth about the Ukrainian people’s hardships.” Ms. Iryna Borusovska was recognized for her daily translations of the Head of the UGCC’s video messages into Italian. At the same time, Ms. Natalia Karfut and Mario Galgano were honored for their German-language translations.
“We deeply appreciate your dedication to the glory of God and the well-being of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, cooperation with the Secretariat of the Head of the UGCC in Rome in various media projects, assistance in promoting the life and activities of our Church, we express our heartfelt gratitude and commend you,” the letters read.
His Beatitude Sviatoslav personally introduced each employee of his Secretariat in Rome and thanked them for their dedicated service to “convey credible information about Ukraine to the international community.”
During the first year of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the Head of the UGCC recorded daily video messages for Ukrainians and the international community. His daily words, ‘Ukraine is standing, Ukraine is fighting, Ukraine prays,’ brought hope and support to many, not only in Ukraine. The texts of these daily video messages, shared with the international community by the Secretariat of the Head of the UGCC in Rome, conveyed the truth about Ukraine and the unwavering resilience of its people. These video messages were translated daily into English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Polish.
