Representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Ireland Participate in Meeting of the President of Ukraine with the Ukrainian Community

On December 2, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska met with the Ukrainian community in Ireland during the first-ever visit by a Ukrainian head of state to this country since the establishment of diplomatic relations following Ukraine’s restoration of independence.

The president and first lady spoke with leaders of Ukrainian organizations, students, and activists. Representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Ireland were also present at the event, including Fr. Vasyl, priest of the parish of Blessed Martyr Nicholas Charnetsky, and parish secretary Oleksandr.

The Ukrainian community presented the President with a symbolic gift—a sculpture in the form of an Irish Claddagh ring, which in local culture signifies love, friendship, and fidelity.
