Pope Leo XIV to Meet Ukrainian Pilgrims During Jubilee Pilgrimage of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Rome
His Holiness Pope Leo XIV has accepted the invitation of His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and will meet with Ukrainian pilgrims at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican on June 28.

The Jubilee Pilgrimage of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church to the tomb of St. Peter the Apostle will take place in Rome on June 28–29.
On June 28, all pilgrims are asked to arrive at St. Peter’s Basilica no later than 12:45 PM to take their places in time for the meeting with the Holy Father.
The meeting will be followed at 1:00 PM (2:00 PM Kyiv time) by the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy in the Ukrainian Byzantine Rite, presided over by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, in concelebration with all the bishops of the UGCC from around the world.
For those unable to travel to Rome, Zhyve TV will broadcast all the main events of the pilgrimage live.
“I invite all our faithful who are able to take part in this pilgrimage. Prepare yourselves spiritually through confession, prayer, and fasting. A unique feature of this pilgrimage will be the opportunity to pass through the Holy Doors of St. Peter’s Basilica and receive a plenary indulgence,” said His Beatitude Sviatoslav. “Even in the Vatican, they must see that we are many and cannot be defeated. We are the largest Eastern Catholic Church—a global Church that unites a multimillion-strong Ukrainian community around the world. I invite all our faithful: come and see.”
