New Council of the Knights of Columbus Launched at UGCC Parish in Kyiv

On March 17, the parish of Saints Borys and Hlib of the UGCC in Kyiv opened a new council of the Knights of Columbus, to be named after the holy martyr Omelyan Kovch.

Fr. Andriy Bodnaruk, parish administrator, presided over a solemn Divine Liturgy to mark the event. Following the prayer, new members were admitted to the Knights of Columbus men’s community. The oath was administered by the Grand Knight of the order, Brother Petro Galuga.

The Board’s governing body, composed of Knight Brothers Andriy Skuba, Bohdan Hirnyi, Anatoliy Pokotiuk, Andriy Cheverda, and Roman Dyakovych, was also approved.

“New brother knights have enlarged our parish — men of faith, prayer, and work! As of today, our parish community of the Knights of Columbus in Ukraine has 23 members, meaning that another Knights of Columbus council has appeared on the map of world communities. The council will bear the name of a humble and holy priest, the martyr Omelyan Kovch. Thank you to our men for their dignified service to God and Ukraine. Thank you to Mr. Petro Galuga for your trust and support!” Fr. Andriy Bodnaruk wrote on social media.
