Medical Chaplains of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Complete Course on Clinical Pastoral Care
On December 4, a ceremony was held at the Patriarchal House in Lviv to award diplomas and certificates to medical chaplains who completed the second academic year of the Clinical Pastoral Care specialization program. The program is implemented by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Commission on Pastoral Care in Health Care and the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University.

Over the course of three months of training, participants underwent comprehensive preparation: lectures, practical classes, and training sessions with specialists. The program covered a myriad of topics: biblical principles and communication skills for chaplains, psychological and ethical aspects of ministry, basics of pre-medical care, history of medicine, pharmacy, medical practice, and medical law.

The Divine Liturgy to mark the solemn completion of the course was presided over by Fr. Yaroslav Mykytchyn, administrator of the Patriarchal House.
The curator of the educational program, Fr. Ruslan Pyasta, the director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the Lviv National Medical University, Orest Sichkoriz, Prof. Andriy Ziminkovsky, Prof. Halyna Svitlyak, and the head of the Department of Social Medicine, Economics, and Health Care Organization, Assoc. Prof. Taras Hutor, addressed the graduates with words of congratulations. They also conveyed greetings from the rector of the medical university, Orest Chemerys. Myroslava Polets read a greeting from the former head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Commission on Health Care, Sister Sevastiana Karvatska.
After the speeches, diplomas and certificates were awarded—an important step in strengthening the ministry of medical chaplaincy in Ukraine.
