Tuesday, February 21 st, 2023, on the Leave-taking of the feast of the Presentation of our Lord, Bishop Mykola Semenyshyn, auxiliary bishop of the Archeparchy of Ivano-Frankivsk, presided at the Divine Liturgy in the chapel of the Kyivan Three Holy Hierarchs Theological Seminary.

“Let us learn to do God’s will in our lives”—Bishop Mykola Semenyshyn at the Kyivan Theological Seminary

Prayer provided the opportunity to thank the bishop for five and a half years of spiritual guidance and instruction for the seminary community and to wish him God’s blessings in his work in a new vineyard to which the Church has called him.

In his homily, Bishop Mykola shared his thoughts on the Gospel passage of the day, where Jesus prays on the Mount of Olives. This is truly a very exceptional moment, when Christ humbly agrees to the will of His Heavenly Father and therefore brings us a powerful example of fulfilling God’s will, careful listening, and endurance on the path of Jesus’s disciples.

At the conclusion of the Archiepiscopal Divine Liturgy, Rector Petro Zhuk offered best wishes and thanks to our dearest Bishop Mykola.

The Seminary gifted a panakhia to the bishop, so beloved by the community. The newly ordained bishop expressed gratitude to his brothers and fathers with whom he had spent these blessed years of spiritual ministry.
