His Beatitude Sviatoslav Meets Metropolitan Ioann of the OCU in Cherkasy
On January 11, during a pastoral visit to Cherkasy, the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, together with the clergy, met with Metropolitan Ioann (Yaremenko), Metropolitan of Cherkasy and Chyhyryn of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and Head of the Synodal Administration of Military Clergy, as well as Archbishop Oleksandr (Reshetnyak), Vicar of Uman of the Cherkasy Eparchy.
“While visiting Cherkasy, we could not pass by without visiting Metropolitan Ioann, so we visited him with Christmas carols and conveyed our New Year wishes. This visit demonstrates our respect for our Orthodox brothers. We expressed our gratitude for all the moments of joint work in the name of goodwill for the common prosperity of Ukraine and assured him that we want to continue building bilateral constructive relations as a sister Church,” said the Head of the UGCC.
According to the Head of the UGCC, the Christmas season has become a good foundation for mutual respect and brotherly love in the spirit of shared Christmas caroling.
