His Beatitude Sviatoslav Consecrates Paskas and Easter Baskets for Military at the Frontline
On Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025, near the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, blessed paskas (traditional Easter cakes) and baskets that will soon be delivered to the Eastern Front for our defenders.
This year, as is tradition, the Department of Military Chaplaincy of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC, in cooperation with the Military Chaplaincy Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is arranging for seven interfaith mobile groups to go to the front line. During the Easter holidays, they will serve there, supporting the full-time military chaplains, who are in particular need of reinforcement—especially from volunteer chaplains.
Bishop Bohdan Manyshyn, chairman of the UGCC Military Chaplaincy Department, will join one of these groups.
