Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Consecrates Church for Guardsmen in Chernihiv
On November 18, the consecration of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, built for the soldiers of the 27th Regiment named after Prince Sviatoslav Yaroslavovych, took place in Chernihiv. The consecration ceremony was performed by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
This was reported by the 27th Regiment named after Prince Sviatoslav Yaroslavovych.
The newly built church is intended to be a place of prayer, inner support, and spiritual renewal for the guardsmen who carry out demanding tasks to protect Ukraine every day.
Here, soldiers will be able to find silence, thank God for His care, ask for strength and wisdom, remember their fallen comrades, and seek peace for their families.
After the consecration, the unit’s chaplain, Father Yuriy Lohaza, addressed the guardsmen, emphasizing the importance of the new church for the spiritual life of the community.
“This church is our common home of faith. It is a place where everyone can leave their worries behind and receive support. Here, we will learn every day to trust God, remember the dignity of a soldier, and carry the light even in the darkest times. May Archangel Michael be your protector in every step of your service,” said Father Yuriy.
The families of the fallen heroes were also present at the event. “We honor the memory of the soldiers,” the unit said. “They will forever remain in our ranks.”
