With the start of the new academic year, the Caritas school club has resumed its activities at the Ukrainian-medium school complex in Gurowo Iławeckie, northern Poland. The club is a group of young volunteers dedicated to assisting those in greatest need, promoting the values of charity and support.

This was reported on the website of the Olsztyn-Gdańsk Diocese.

One of the club’s first initiatives was to assist victims of the recent floods in Poland. Together with the student council, the volunteers organized a collection of food and essential goods, which were distributed to those in need by Caritas of the Olsztyn-Gdańsk Eparchy of the UGCC.

The Caritas school club consistently supports Ukrainians, particularly by making camouflage nets and trench candles for both the military and civilians to help them endure harsh winter conditions. In the lead-up to Christmas, the volunteers will also write greeting cards with heartfelt wishes to offer support to Ukrainians during the holidays.

“The Caritas School Club continues its vital mission of aiding those in need, with the hope of a peaceful future,” the diocese’s website states.
