These days Bishop Mykola Bychok is on a pastoral visit to Brisbane. As part of his visit, on Friday, 4 October, he met with members of the Senior Citizens Club, which operates at the Ukrainian Community Centre.

The meeting began with a joint prayer for peace in Ukraine, for the wounded, prisoners of war, and those who are missing. Then, Bishop Mykola shared his impressions of his recent visit to Ukraine and emphasised the importance of daily gratitude to God for the peace and wellbeing they enjoy in Australia. He called for people to remember to pray for the Ukrainian people and to help in any way they can.

Ukrainian seniors meet monthly at the Ukrainian Community Centre. Each meeting is always attended by local priests: Fr. Stefan Sapun and Fr. Martin Arnold from the Ukrainian Catholic Parish of the Protection of the Mother of God and Fr. Yuriy Fediv from the Ukrainian Orthodox Parish of St. Nicholas, so they joined this time. The purpose of these meetings is not only to spend time together but also to support and preserve the Ukrainian language, culture, and traditions.

The club members were very happy to meet with Bishop Mykola. This meeting was not only interesting but also spiritually beneficial for all those present. It was another reminder of the importance of uniting in prayer and supporting the Ukrainian people in this difficult time.
