Bishop Mykola Cardinal Bychok presided over a hierarchical divine liturgy for Ukrainians in Siena
On Sunday, May 4, at the invitation of Fr. Taras Turkot, pastor of the Ukrainian community in the city of Siena, Italy, Bishop Mykola Cardinal Bychok, Eparch of Melbourne, presided over a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the parish church of St. Petronilla.

During the Liturgy, the Cardinal Mykola was concelebrated by Fr. Taras Turkot and Fr. Simon Ckuj, Protosyncellos of the Melbourne Eparchy.
In his homily, the Bishop reflected on the experience of the Myrrh-bearing Women who approached Christ’s tomb with anxiety and fear. However, upon seeing the stone rolled away and hearing the message “Christ is Risen,” they were filled with new hope.
“Just like them, we today often live in uncertainty, in restlessness, in fear. But we must live with hope and remember that the Lord has not abandoned us,” emphasised Bishop Mykola. “Especially now, in this Jubilee Year, let us remember that God is near, and He will help us through all the trials we face on our path.”
While in Siena, Bishop Mykola, together with Fr. Simon, also visited the Basilica of Saint Dominic, where the head of Saint Catherine of Siena is venerated. Praying before the relics of the patroness of Europe, Bishop Mykola asked the Lord for the gift of peace for Ukraine and for divine guidance for the cardinals who will soon gather in conclave.
