Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski attended an Easter reception at the residence of the Prime Minister of Great Britain
On Tuesday, 23 April, Most Reverend Kenneth, bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family of London was invited to attend a special Easter reception at No 10 Downing Street in London, the official residence of Sir Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Bishop Kenneth was accompanied by Rev Ivan Kharevych the head of the Eparchy’s youth commission and four young people from Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in London.
Oleksandr Fedun, a Ukrainian young person originally from Ivano-Frankivsk was invited to talk the importance of Easter to Ukrainians and introduce to the podium Sir Keir Starmer.
Welcoming his guests including other Christian faith leaders and members of the House of Lords and the House of Commons, the Prime Minster expressed his sincere condolences at the announcement of the death of His Holiness Pope Frances.
The British Prime Minister emphasized the continued and unwavering support by the UK Government for Ukraine as it defends itself from the unprovoked aggression and attacks from Russia. He said, the people and Government of the UK will support and stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.
After the formal proceedings of the reception the prime Minister greeted Bishop Kenneth and those with him and thanked them for their presence at the Easter reception.
Bishop Kenneth reflecting on the positive and encouraging words of the Prime Minister, stated how since the very first days of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, the UK Government and its citizen assured Ukraine of its support. More than 80,000 ordinary British citizens opened their homes to more than 200,000 Ukrainians who had fled harm’s way seeking safety in the UK.
