ANNOUNCEMENT. On November 30, the UGCC hosts the annual charity collection “Andriyiv Hrish”
On Thursday, November 30, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church celebrates the Day of Remembrance of St. Andrew the First-Called for the first time according to the Gregorian calendar. On this day, traditionally, UGCC churches worldwide pray for the Head of the Church and hold the annual Andriyiv Hrish charity collection.
The “Andriyiv Hrish” (Andrew’s Pence) collection is held to facilitate the fund to help the Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, to serve people in need quickly and efficiently.
“In the conditions of the great war, the great grief of the Ukrainian people in their native lands, the Andriyiv Hrish collection shows its particular effectiveness — it provides us with the opportunity to offer swift and targeted assistance, fulfilling our mission with greater efficiency and impact,” said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
Patriarchal economist Fr. Lubomyr Yavorsky noted that the collection is being held to implement various projects and programs within the “Healing the Wounds of War.” project. “Today, the Ukrainian people are enduring significant suffering, and the wounds—both mental and physical—are, unfortunately, very deep.”
“You can join various initiatives of our Church, become an instrument, become the hands of our Church to help reach those in need. Therefore, we sincerely invite you to join this ministry and this foundation,” Fr. Lubomyr called on.

Andriyiv Hrish (“Andrew’s Pence) was founded in the Ukrainian-Greek Catholic Church by His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar. According to the resolution of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, since 2007, the Andriyiv Hrish charity collection has been held annually in all archdioceses, eparchies, and exarchates of the Church. The fund was created so that the Head of the Church could immediately help people in greatest need.
