His Beatitude Sviatoslav Prays in Farewell to Patriarch Filaret in Kyiv

On March 21, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, together with Auxiliary Bishop Andriy Khimyak of the Kyiv Archeparchy, prayed a memorial service for the repose of the soul of the late Patriarch Filaret at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral and bid farewell to the deceased.

The day before, His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his condolences to Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, on the passing of Patriarch Filaret.

Following the memorial service, the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church offered words of support to the clergy and faithful of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine during this time of mourning.
