On Monday, June 26, on the holy mountain of Stradtch, in the pilgrim’s house, the Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, consecrated and blessed the Spiritual and Psychological Rehabilitation Center named after His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar.

Head of the UGCC consecrated the Spiritual and Psychological Rehabilitation Center named after His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar in Stradch

“What is meaningful is that it is here, in Stradch, that we have blessed the Pilgrim’s House, which can also be called a space for healing the wounds of war, a center for rehabilitation of our soldiers and all those wounded by this war,” said His Beatitude Sviatoslav. “We all remember well that Patriarch Lubomyr, as the ruling bishop of the Lviv Archeparchy, began to develop this place of pilgrimage.”

The Spiritual and Psychological Rehabilitation Center building named after His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar was consecrated on the Day of Memory of the Blessed Martyrs of the UGCC, Father Mykola Konrad and Deacon Volodymyr Pryima. The center has a chapel, a large hall, and several rooms where psychologists will work to heal post-traumatic stress disorder for all those seeking spiritual and psychological consolation.

Mainly, the Spiritual Rehabilitation Center will also receive Ukrainian military personnel. According to Fr. Ivan Koltun, the military will be able to undergo rehabilitation for three days to be ready to return to their families. People at war are wounded and anxious so psychologists will work with them.

The Head of the Church thanked Fr. Ivan Koltun and all the benefactors for their gigantic work. He also emphasized that the opening of such a center is a small victory — the victory of good over evil.

“May the Lord God bless us with His bright angels here. May the Lord God, through the power and work of the Holy Spirit, heal people here from their injuries and wounds of the soul and body caused by this terrible war. May this house be a sanctuary for the souls and bodies of all who will come to this Stradetskiy Hill,” wished His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
