Christian worldview and morality, professionalism, and constant self-education — these three principles of “Obnova” are fundamental life guidelines for students. Moreover, these are the rules of success in life, study, and professional activity. The Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, emphasized in his speech “Christian youth during the war and after victory” during the “Obnova” conference for youth “What is our tomorrow?” on Saturday, October 1, in Ternopil.

Dear youth, I encourage you to take with you into the future three principles of “Obnova”, — the Head of the UGCC during the conference

The Head of the UGCC emphasized the importance of such meetings as “the future of Ukraine is forged in such surroundings.” According to him, when we think about the future, even at this moment, we are already creating it.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav congratulated the new members on the 25th anniversary of their activity in Ternopil. “Thank you for everything you have done for the Church and the people,” he added.

The Head thanked the association for the fruits of its work: “It is very nice to see psychologists, lawyers, musicians who want to practice their profession in a Christian way. Thank you that you exist, that you want to be together, and that you make the ideas of great predecessors life-giving. It is eternal and always relevant.”

His Beatitude Sviatoslav recalled the three principles of “Obnova”: Christian worldview and morality, professionalism, and constant self-education, and analyzed each of them.

In his opinion, the Christian worldview and morality are solid points of support on which to lean. It is a particular reference point, a compass in the stormy sea of this life.

The second is professionalism. According to the Head of the Church, it is essential for every person to be a professional in his work, to do the best in everything she undertakes. “As patriarch Josyf Slipyj taught us to ‘wish for greatness!’ Don’t settle for half-assed answers,” called on His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

The third principle is constant self-education. “In the modern information world, the role of the teacher has changed. The teacher is no longer the only source of information for his student. It is like a regulator, which only shows the direction of movement for the student to accurate and genuine information. Everyone can move and draw by himself. You are responsible for getting an education. It is a necessary condition for building a creative society and Ukraine of what we dream of.”

“These three principles of ‘Obnova’ are the rule of success for the modern student in life, study, professional life, and service!” the Primate emphasized.

The Patriarch recalled “Ptashka” (the Bird) — Kateryna Polishchuk, who, in his opinion, is the collective image of the youth, who defends the Motherland according to the dictates of her conscience, who builds the space of life, who feels beauty, who dreams of the future.
