In the town of Yaremche, where the camp was held, one of the days was themed “Save the World!” On that day, the head of the Ecological Bureau of the UGCC of the Donetsk Exarchate, Fr. Mykhailo Neizhmak, visited the children.

This was reported by the information service of the UGCC Bureau of Ecology.

The children participated in an environmental KVN, which enhanced their knowledge and skills in caring for nature, particularly in saving electricity and natural resources that the Lord has given for the good of all people.

Special emphasis was placed on the need to overcome anti-environmental behaviors that harm not only the environment but also one’s health and life.

The camp participants learned three key rules for saving the world from human-made garbage: “reduce waste — don’t buy unnecessary things”; “refuse disposable items — reuse (use reusable items)”; “give waste a new life — sort it and recycle afterward.”

The children’s practical creative task was to invent a story about a plastic bottle, its place in human life, and its harm to nature. Through this, they demonstrated their understanding of the impact of plastic on the environment.

“Thanks to such thematic environmental days for children, we achieve extremely important goals in environmental education and outreach. Based on this day, I can assure you that children love the world created by God and are ready to protect it, but they need to be guided in the right direction,” Mykhailo summarized the results of the eco-day.
